August 14-15, 2023

The Committee Leadership Camp includes multiple immersive training sessions for the volunteer committee leaders of the National Association of REALTORS®. The content will help define the roles and expectations of committee volunteer leaders, develop leadership skills, teach effective communication strategies, and lead a productive and successful meeting. Chairs, Vice Chairs, and Liaisons are also given opportunities to collaborate with their staff executive on goals for the coming year.

Committee Leadership Camp will join Leadership Summit for one, dynamic event! Attendees of Committee Leadership Camp should plan to attend nearly two full days of programming on Monday, August 14 & 15. Sessions will not be held on Wednesday.

Janelle Brevard is former Chief Storyteller for the National Association of REALTORS®. In this role, she was responsible for capturing and telling the stories of REALTORS®, including integrating storytelling into NAR events. Janelle also served as an on-air moderator for NAR shows including its presidential chat video series and the Drive with NAR podcast. Janelle is a former Capitol Hill reporter with The Associated Press. She later transitioned to political speechwriting, serving as the top scribe for Sen. Elizabeth Dole and Secretary Condoleezza Rice. Janelle is a member of the inaugural cohort of the Presidential Leadership Scholars, an executive education style cohort led by Presidents Bush and Clinton.

As the President of Dynamic Directions, Inc., a company with an extensive faculty of consultants, speakers and trainers, Adorna trains REALTORS® all over North America. She has authored numerous residential designation and certification courses for the NAR and REBI – Real Estate Business Institute.

In 1997 she completed her term as the State President for the CT Realtors, was the 2001 Region 1 VP, an NAR Liaison in 2002, 2003, and 2007, RPAC Trustee in 2004, the 2005 NAR VP & Liaison to Committees, NAR’s Chief Political Fundraiser in 2006, a member of the RPAC Hall of Fame, the REBAC Hall of Fame, the 2016 President of the REBI – Real Estate Business Institute and is the 79th recipient of NAR’s Distinguished Service Award.

Toni Carone is affiliated with Long and Foster Real Estate with licenses in WV and VA and has officially been an active REALTOR® since 2005. She started her career working as staff for the Eastern Panhandle Board of REALTORS® and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Marketing during that tenure.

Toni is a Past President of her local board, EPBR and served as a West Virginia Association of REALTORS® director from 2006-2020. Toni is the 2022 President Elect for WVAR and will serve as President in 2023. She has chaired the WVAR Convention Committee several times; Chaired the RPAC committee and been a member of many other WVAR committees over the years. Toni was on the task force to develop the WVAR Leadership Academy and became a graduate in their Inaugural Class.

She served on the National Association of REALTORS® RPAC Major Investor Council for several years and currently sits on the NAR RPAC Fundraising Trustee Committee as a Regional Representative. She is an RPAC Major Investor, including being member of the RPAC Presidents Circle.

Toni was previously named EPBR Rookie REALTOR® of the Year, EPBR REALTOR® of the Year and named WV Association of REALTORS® REALTOR® of the Year in 2015.

Troy Green is the Director of Media Communications for the National Association of REALTORS®. He leads NAR’s media outreach, serves as a media spokesperson, and proactively pitches news stories based on NAR’s public relations communication strategic plan and business priorities. In addition, he helps develop and implement the strategic plan and key messages and provides media coaching for NAR’s Leadership Team, Regional Vice Presidents and subject matter experts. 

Troy has 20 years of extensive experience in media communications and public affairs. Prior to joining NAR, he worked in public affairs for two modes within the U.S. Department of Transportation – the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. During his time there, Troy developed and executed successful media and public relations strategies. In addition, he staffed Administrators, Deputy Administrators and other senior executives at Congressional hearings, stakeholder meetings, press events, and briefed these senior leaders on topline messaging in preparation for these events and media interviews.

In his previous role as Public Relations Manager for the AAA National Office in Washington D.C., he served as AAA’s lead on-camera spokesperson during interviews on national news programs and outlets such as NBC’s Today Show and Nightly News; CBS’s The Early Show and Evening News; ABC’s Good Morning America and World News; CNN; CNBC; Fox News; Fox Business; and MSNBC.

During his career, Troy has established and managed relationships with national broadcast, print, radio, and trade media, including NBC News, ABC News, CBS News, The Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, USA Today, Associated Press, Bloomberg News, National Public Radio, and many more.

Nate K. Johnson is the President of Real Estate Solutions Group @ Redkey Realty Leaders, a full service residential real estate group with a commitment to helping clients achieve their real estate goals. In addition to representing buyers and sellers in real estate transactions, Nate serves in an agent development role for Redkey Realty Leaders, where he coaches and trains agents at the largest independent real estate brokerage in St. Louis. He also manages a sales staff while overseeing the daily operations of Real Estate Solutions. 

Nate has been speaking to groups around the country, large and small, for over a decade. He is passionate about helping people become the best version of themselves through teaching and training. Nate is a certified instructor for the National Association of REALTORS® and teaches the Smart Growth for the 21st Century class, which helps REALTORS® gain a better understanding of how to build communities in a sustainable way. Nate is also certified to instruct NAR’s Discovering Commercial Real Estate course, which provides insight for residential practitioners who are considering commercial real estate. As the 2018 President, Elizabeth helped drive bold innovation, specifically aimed at heightening NAR’s communications, technology and advocacy strategies. Accomplishments include amplifying real-time member communications, championing fair housing, and positioning REALTORS® as technology advocates to further emphasize the critical nature of the role REALTORS® provide in the industry.

Since March of 2019 he was named the Vice President of Public Relations and Communication Strategy for the National Association of REALTORS® which is the largest trade association in America. In this position he leads NAR’s Public Relations and Speechwriting team. This year, his speech team won the Cicero award, one of the highest honors for speech writers. In 2021, his team won Reagan’s Communications PR team of the Year Award. Before NAR he served as the Director of Advocacy Communications for the American Public Transportation for twelve years, where he led the association’s public relations, grassroots and advertising outreach. Before this position, he served as the Director of public relations for AAA, which is the nation’s largest membership association for nearly 10 years. His experience also includes serving as the Director of Member services for the American Trucking Association. His public and media relations strategies have garnered extensive news coverage in top tier media where he often served as media spokesperson. Mantill holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s in Public Administration from West Virginia University.
