The goal of the NAR Safety Program Reimbursement Grant is to provide funding assistance to state and local REALTOR® Associations to help implement a Safety Program or feature for their members, and to encourage ongoing awareness of REALTOR® Safety.
A Safety Grant must be used to fund projects that will keep safety awareness top of mind for REALTORS® and Association staff. Grants are available up to $2,500. Total funding is limited.
Examples of Association Safety Programs include:
- Hiring a professional speaker to present to members;
- Creating a safety manual or marketing materials;
- Creating a safety webinar for members.
Grant Requirements
- Applicants: Only available to state and local REALTOR® Associations.
- Application: Opened March 1, 2023.
- Program criteria:
- Creates a new or enhanced product, program, process, or service to encourage and promote REALTOR® safety;
- Educates REALTORS® on the importance of having, and ways to implement a safety plan;
- Demonstrates a realistic budget and timeline necessary to complete project/activity in 2023;
- Adaptable by other REALTOR® Associations.
- Funding reimbursement amount: Up to $2,500, depending on project type and meeting of all criteria.
Grant Application Process
- March 1, 2023: Application period opens.
- April 7, 2023: All application materials due.
- June 5, 2023: Grant recipients announced.
- November 30, 2023: All receipts/requests for reimbursement due to NAR for program payment.
- Note: Money must be spent by this date; otherwise, forfeited.
- The same assessment criteria will be utilized for every submission received.
- Due to limited funding, not all applicants will receive grants.
- NAR does not fulfill requests for funding toward general operating expenses or projects/programs that have already taken place or been completed.
Project Completion
- Program must be completed by November 24, 2023 (so receipt can be submitted by November 30, 2023).
- Within 1 month after the program is completed, the following needs to be done: Email photos and a summary of your Association Safety Program, including an outline of the program, key takeaways and the number of attendees, if applicable.
- This information will be posted on www.NAR.realtor/Safety as an example of how REALTOR® Associations successfully used the NAR Safety Program Grant.
- Within 1 month after the program is completed, the following needs to be done: Email photos and a summary of your Association Safety Program, including an outline of the program, key takeaways and the number of attendees, if applicable.
Disbursement of Reimbursement Funds
- Reimbursement funds will be distributed as follows:
- Submit proof of how funds were spent.
- Acceptable forms of proof include an invoice, signed contract, receipts, and canceled checks.
- The request for reimbursement must be made before November 30, 2023, or reimbursement grant is forfeited.
- Once all documentation is received, NAR will process the check request to qualifying grantees.
- Checks can be payable to your Association or Board.
- It usually takes ten working days to two weeks for the check to be processed and mailed out.
- Associations will not be permitted to submit an NAR Safety Reimbursement Grant application the following year if funds were not used as described in the application, or if requests for reimbursement were not made before November 30, 2023.
